Overview

Pinch valves and rubber lined slurry valves are purpose built for media that destroys conventional valves: abrasive mineral slurry, tailings, corrosive chemicals, and solids laden flows. The flexible rubber sleeve is the only part in contact with the media, giving a full bore, unobstructed flow path with no crevices, pockets, or metal wear surfaces.

Our range covers open and enclosed body pinch valves for isolation and control, in sizes from 1 inch to 24 inch, with a wide choice of sleeve elastomers, natural rubber, NBR, EPDM, neoprene, and polyurethane, selected for the specific abrasion and chemical conditions.

Because the replaceable sleeve is the only wear part, pinch valves offer very low maintenance cost in severe slurry duty, and the same design provides excellent throttling control. What is a pinch valve and when should I use one?
A pinch valve isolates or controls flow by pinching a flexible rubber sleeve closed. The sleeve is the only part touching the media, giving a full bore, crevice free flow path with no metal wear surfaces. Use pinch valves for abrasive slurry, tailings, powders, granular solids, and corrosive media where other valves wear out or clog.
What is the difference between open body and enclosed body pinch valves?
Open body valves have an exposed sleeve pinched by an external mechanism, economical for lower pressure isolation and control. Enclosed body valves house the sleeve in a sealed body and pinch it with air or hydraulic pressure, suited to higher pressure, corrosive, or hazardous media needing full containment.
How do I choose the right sleeve material?
Sleeve elastomer is selected for the media. Natural rubber and polyurethane give the best abrasion resistance for mineral slurry, NBR suits oils and hydrocarbons, EPDM handles many chemicals and acids, and neoprene is a good general purpose choice. We match the sleeve to your particle size, concentration, temperature, and chemistry.
Why are pinch valves good for abrasive slurry?
Because only the replaceable rubber sleeve contacts the media, and the full bore flow path has no pockets or metal seats to erode. The sleeve flexes closed, self clearing solids. When it eventually wears, only the low cost sleeve is replaced, giving very low maintenance cost in severe slurry duty.
Can slurry and pinch valves be used for control, not just isolation?
Yes. With a positioner, pinch valves provide accurate modulating control of abrasive and slurry flows, combining throttling and shutoff in one low wear valve. This makes them useful for dosing and flow control in mineral processing where conventional control valves would erode quickly.
