Globe valves are the valve of choice for throttling and flow regulation, their disc-to-seat geometry provides precise flow control across the full travel range. AQ Process Systems sources and exports globe valves in standard, angle, and Y-pattern configurations for steam, process, and utility applications.
We offer cast and forged globe valves in sizes from 1/2" to 24" and pressure classes from 150 to 2500. Trim materials range from standard 13Cr to Stellite-hardfaced seats and discs for severe service, erosion, high temperature, and high-pressure-drop applications.
For steam service, our globe valves are available with integral seat (body-seated) or renewable seat ring designs, with options for Stellite hardfacing, extended bonnet for high temperature, and bellows seal for zero-emission requirements.
| Product | Specification | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Cast Globe Valves | ||
| Cast Steel Globe Valves | 2", 24" | Class 150-2500 | Flanged RF/RTJ or BW | Standard pattern cast globe valves, bolted bonnet, OS&Y, with plug disc or parabolic disc for throttling service. |
| Angle Globe Valves | 2", 16" | Class 150-2500 | 90° flow path | Angle pattern globe valves with inlet and outlet at 90°, reducing piping elbows and providing self-draining in vertical installations. |
| Y-Pattern Globe Valves | 2", 24" | Class 150-2500 | Low pressure drop | Y-pattern (oblique) globe valves with angled seat, lower pressure drop than standard pattern while maintaining good throttling capability. |
| Pressure Seal Globe Valves | 2", 24" | Class 600-2500 | HP steam service | High-pressure globe valves with pressure-seal bonnet for power plant and refinery high-pressure steam systems. |
| Forged Globe Valves | ||
| Forged Steel Globe Valves | 1/2", 2" | Class 800/1500/2500 | SW, BW, threaded | Small-bore forged globe valves for instrument lines, sampling, drain, and vent applications in high-pressure systems. |
| Bellows Seal Globe Valves | 1/2", 12" | Class 150-600 | Zero emission | Bellows-sealed globe valves eliminating stem packing leakage, for toxic, radioactive, or environmentally sensitive service. |
| Specialty Globe Valves | ||
| Cryogenic Globe Valves | Extended bonnet | -196°C | LNG service | Globe valves with extended bonnet and cryogenic-rated trim for liquefied gas and low-temperature process applications. |
| Needle Valves | 1/4", 2" | Class 6000 | Fine flow regulation | Precision needle valves for instrument lines, gauge roots, and fine flow metering, stainless steel or alloy body. |
Globe valves have a disc that moves perpendicular to the flow path, creating good throttling control but higher pressure drop. Gate valves have a wedge that slides across the flow path, providing full-bore flow with minimal pressure drop but poor throttling ability. Use globe valves for flow control and throttling; gate valves for on/off isolation.
We supply standard (T-pattern), angle (L-pattern), and Y-pattern (oblique) globe valves. Standard pattern is most common. Angle pattern eliminates a piping elbow and is self-draining. Y-pattern offers the lowest pressure drop of the three while maintaining throttling capability.
Yes. Stellite 6 hardfacing on disc and seat faces is standard for high-temperature steam service, erosive media, and high-pressure-drop applications. We also offer Stellite 21 for higher-temperature corrosion resistance. Hardfacing extends trim life by 3-10x compared to standard 13Cr trim.
Yes. Bellows-sealed globe valves use a formed metallic bellows instead of (or in addition to) conventional packing to seal the stem. This provides zero fugitive emissions, critical for toxic, radioactive, steam, and environmentally sensitive applications. Available in sizes 1/2" to 12", Class 150-600.
A needle valve is a small-bore globe valve with a tapered (needle-shaped) plug providing very fine flow control. Use needle valves for instrument root connections, gauge isolations, sampling points, and any application requiring precise low-flow regulation. Available in 1/4" to 2", up to Class 6000.
